"I went to South High Mount in the late 60's, early 70's. In that time period, it was a wonderful school. It was right at the beginning of desegregation and students were being bussed to and from other schools. I loved getting to be in a mixed school and made lots of great friends. Three of my teachers at South High Mount greatly influenced me in those early years and helped guide me to be the successful, confident person I am today. I think of them often and still live by the values they taught me. They were Mrs Stokes, my third grade teacher and Mrs Green and Mrs Daniels, two of my fifth grade teachers. I am trying to find Mrs Green and Mrs Daniels so I can tell them what a difference they made in my life. Mrs Stokes passed away many years ago."
