Real estate market data from September 2024 showed 1,386 current listings in the immediate Greenville city limits and suburbs. The homes for sale in Greenville had a median list price of $389,300. The lowest prices began at $15,000 for vacant real estate. The high end of the market maxed out at $5.9 million for a one-acre estate in Hollingsworth with five bedrooms, eight full baths, and two half baths. The most common available real estate was single-family homes with 3-4 bedrooms and 2-3 bathrooms.

The market prices ranged from $110,000 for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom condo unit to $3.25 million for a new construction condo in downtown Greenville. The Greenville School District assessed a 0.2077 millage rate. Road maintenance, public safety, and fire districts charge additional taxes. Tax payments are due once a year, and tax notices are issued in early October. Property assessments are reviewed every five years, with the next scheduled for 2025.

Are there any waterfront properties found in Greenville, SC? 

As a city in the foothills of the mountains, you may not think of Greenville as a waterfront property destination. While you won’t find expansive bodies of water, you can find properties along the different creeks and streams that serve as key watersheds for the Greenville County area.

What school district serves Greenville, SC?

Greenville County School District manages the public education available to local families. Supervised by the Greenville County School Board, this is South Carolina’s largest district by population and size, with over 100 schools. What areas are near Greenville, SC?

Surrounding Greenville and inside the county borders are the towns of Fountain Inn, Simpsonville, Maudlin, and Greer. These cities are informally known as “The Golden Strip,” which refers to their fast-paced economic growth. These cities are centers for industrial and manufacturing employment. Looking further afield, Greenville is next to Spartanburg County and its amenities. The city of Spartanburg is 40 minutes along I-85, and the college town of Clemson lies 42 minutes drive away on US-123. For those interested in ample outdoor recreation, such as mountain biking, hiking, and camping, the Pisgah National Forest is across the North Carolina border. It’s roughly an hour and 20-minute drive, depending on where you want to go.
