How Do You Stay Motivated?
How do you Stay Motivated?
Motivation is a funny thing. It’s something you can feel when it’s there, but you can’t always tell when it’s going to leave. So how do you stay motivated?
The more distance you put between yourself and your goals, the harder it is going to turn things around; you will have a longer road ahead of you than you think. Motivation is the fuel that powers us, and we need it to take action. However, everyone’s bound to get off their creative wagon from time to time, and sometimes, it can be hard to get your fuel back. But what do you do when you are stuck in an endless cycle but getting nowhere?
In this twelfth episode of The Process podcast, Preston Guyton and Travis McClure discuss how you can maximize your efforts so that life doesn’t constantly seem like an endless grind. Learn how to put that fire inside of you at the forefront of your every thought and stay motivated all the time.
Find out their productivity hacks that will set your feet ablaze and allow you to obtain exactly what you want in life.
Productivity Hacks to Stay Motivated
As humans, we get bored pretty quickly. Or, to be exact, we get bored when things become too repetitive. That’s the reality of everyday life – it can sometimes be boring. But what if you could hack your way through it so you can consistently stay on top of everything?
There are many different ways to keep your motivation going. One thing that will get you moving is being aware of the things around you that make you want to do something. Being aware of your surroundings can help you stay motivated. For example, if you are working on a project with others, it’s important to keep an eye on the clock so everyone has enough time to finish their work. Similarly, if you’re trying to get in shape by exercising regularly and eating healthy foods—or any other task that requires focus and self-control—it’s important not to let distractions get a hold of you from what matters most.
Another productivity hack is to break down your goals into smaller, more achievable goals. Because when you look at your big end goal, it might seem daunting, but when you break it down into smaller measurables, and you achieve those measurables, you get a little hit of dopamine. Dopamine is a “feel-good” hormone in your brain that drives you to do something because it makes you happy. Human brains are designed to seek out behaviors that release dopamine in our reward system. When doing something satisfying, our brains release a large amount of dopamine; we feel good and want more of that feeling. So the more small goals you achieve, the more dopamine is released. And the more dopamine kicks you have, the more motivated you become to take the next steps until you’ve finally obtained what you wanted.
And lastly, having an accountability partner. They are someone who will check in with you regularly and make sure that they know what’s going on in your life. They may ask how much weight you’ve lost, how many deals you’ve closed or if you’ve already started that project you’ve always wanted. And sometimes it’s not all about you – it can be for them too! Accountability partners can also feel like they’re part of something bigger than themselves by contributing to your success.
Harness The Power Of Motivation
Motivation is a tricky subject. It can be used like a fickle flame, wavering in and out of existence instantly. Thus, you must never rely on motivation as your primary source of inspiration but rather look at it as a quick and sudden burst that can catapult you forward on your journey.
Making progress is better than idly standing still, even if it feels stagnant. The road will likely be a long one but always remember to harness momentum at these times and use that motivation to challenge your life. After all, the moment you think most negatively is the moment you should start planning your next stop ahead.
Take one day at a time and never stop asking “Why?”. When you can pinpoint your true motivations, it is easier to see what truly matters to you and will make a difference in your life. Take the time to define your success and you will have taken the first step in getting there.
